Joannabeth Spencer did an excellent job in her recreation of the surface textures of four different animals for the project Animal Textures Study in "AF113 Human & Animal Form".  Using the process of pencil shading, by slowly building up value and form through shading and blending, Joannabeth brought very realistic details to life in her project.  Each of her chosen subjects she study had their own strong values and achievements.  This project and being able to see surfaces in the way is the foundation of being able to paint realistic and compelling textures for CG.
