On October 3rd, Professor Cohen took her Creative Thinking classes to the Edvard Munch-Symbolism in Print at the North Carolina Museum of Art. The students enjoyed seeing these original pieces up close and in person. Before attending the exhibit each student had to select a favorite work from the exhibit. While at the exhibit the students were instructed to pay extra attention to the piece they had selected as their favorite. After seeing the works, some students left the exhibit with a new favorite. The Creative Thinking classes are now working on a project called Master Copy. Using the piece of art from the Munch exhibit for inspiration, they will create a new piece of art work. It can be in any media or format they choose: pen, paint, computer based, or even a short film. The only limitation is their creativity. |
