![]() Charity Begins at Home… Wednesday, October 21st, the Living Arts College Game Night Club sponsored a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament fundraiser. Club officer Jaime Desper and fellow student Sebastian Taylor organized the event with 16 participants paying a nominal entry fee. Pizza and sodas were sold to players and spectators. The evening’s fundraising totaled over $110! All proceeds will be donated to a local cause: www.diegogoestobarcelona.com , to assist beloved teacher Georges LeChevallier’s son Diego fly to Barcelona, Spain to train for two weeks with the professional soccer team of Barcelona. Diego was one of 250 boys selected out of 3000 to participate. The tournament lasted several hours and had to resume in the dorm after the building closed. The winners received gift cards donated by Campus Director Debra Hooper (thank you Debra!) and the grand prize winner, Sebastian, received a special edition painting by Georges LeChevallier, who created the painting especially for the event. Congratulations, Diego (and Georges) for the selection to the Barcelona soccer club training session. And great job Jaime and Sebastian! Congrats to all the winners and thank you LAC students for participating and showing the love to Mr. LeChevallier. |
