September 1st, 2015 Living Arts Alumnus Luis Angel Miranda, now based in New York City, continues to pave his way through the film industry. If he isn’t writing, directing, filming or editing his latest film, you can find Luis receiving recognition for his work amongst filmmaking greats, helping get film festivals off the ground, or being interviewed for his contributions to filmmaking. Most recently Luis wrapped on an “Anti-Bullying Awareness” project (which can be see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaRq7bXjW08 ), that he directed and edited, and directing the feature length “The Life & Times of the Legendary Joe Cuba”. The later of which he was recently recognized for at the “My Final Shot Production” (MFSP) Awards. The 2014-2015 MFSP Awards were held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the famous Neir’s Tavern in Woodhaven, NY. Luis can be seen above with Paul Calderon (“Pulp Fiction”, “Boardwalk Empire”) who was honored at the same event with a Lifetime Achievement award. Luis won three awards at the event, one of which was for BEST documentary film for “The Life & Times of the Legendary Joe Cuba.” On August 27, 2015, Luis was also interviewed by New York’s PIX11. Luis can be seen above with PIX11′s Marissa Torres. Luis was interviewed for his film “That One Day” and its success in the film festival circuit.
