Animation & Game Design student Jephon Scott did a great job on his Story Arc assignment for AM102, Story Development. The students were to watch a film in class and analyze it, defining the Exposition, Conflict and Resolution. The film they watched in class was "The Fall" by director Tarsem Singh from the Living Arts Library Media Center. The film documents the budding friendship of a stuntman and a little girl stuck together in a hospital recovering from their injuries. The stuntman tells a story to the little girl, which is then replayed from her imagination on screen using some of the same characters from the real world, à la "The Wizard of Oz." The story's two timelines and how they intertwine provide for an interesting conundrum in considering the director's choices in creating the film. Jephon's analysis was fairly thorough and thought out. Good job, Jephon! |
