In 2012, Living Arts College celebrated its 20th anniversary. AD103 (Creative Thinking) classes led by Mark Smith have begun the process of creating a time capsule (used to store for posterity a selection of objects thought to be representative of life at a particular time). The time capsule that will be placed on the grounds of Living Arts College will be scheduled to be opened on the school’s 50th Anniversary (2042). Mark Smith's class premised the project with a trip to the NC Archives, where Kim Anderson (Archivist for non-textual items) spoke to students about saving items for future generations. Site dedication will take place within the next few weeks (some inspections still need to take place). Eventually, a plaque noting all participants will be placed over the spot. |
