May 2018 Professional Development Day

During this spring May 2018 Professional Development Day, we had Alumni, guest speaker; PreShus Lee. She spoke about the importance of social media and how to maintain a
professional guise to network with others in their field. PreShus has worked for a company called REVGEN, where she Managed the company’s re-branding efforts in collaboration with strategic partners. She also managed all social media platforms. Created branded marketing materials not limited to flyers, graphics, and written content. She additionally produced, filmed, and edited company videos for promotion and informational purposes and maintained live streaming A/V support for the RevGen Speaker Series.

Melanie Dogan from our Professional Services department, talked to the students about freelancing and how to thrive in today’s market. Colette George and Andrew Greene from our Library department hosted a newspaper sculpture competition. Students enjoyed lunch and games during Professional Development Day and participated in a teacher networking event, where teachers met with students from all fields of study and had a one on one question and answer session. Teachers provided real world experience stories and helped students with any problems they might have in addition to helping them find freelance work.

We are proud to say this Professional Development day was a huge success thanks to our staff and faculty.
