posted Sep 7, 2012, 9:46 AM by jberkov@living-arts-college.edu
Mark Smith's and Lena Corter's sections of Creative Thinking AD103 have been provided with Mystery Build kits from the Raleigh design team of Roger Flake and Jeremy Maronpot, for the students to complete as their final projects in the class. Students worked in pairs to build a scene from their favorite movie, using only the materials provided in the kits. These kits contain plaster, small wooden dowels, a marble, some modeling clay and other random items. The only additional material that may be added is paint. Rachel Koronet's scene from "The Iron Giant", Kyle Young and Joe Hansley's "Silver Surfer", and Aaron Plentie's joker from "Batman" were all very inspired designs. The best projects from LAC will be entered into the national competition for the grand prize of $5,000, and the best LAC project will be awarded a $250 in-house prize.
